Visual supports are simple tools that can make a big difference when working with people who have communication difficulties. During this training, you will learn what visual supports are, why they are important, with whom they can be used and how to use them easily.
Learn about the different senses, how they can shape behaviour, and how to help with sensory issues. Our senses help us connect with ourselves and the world around us. Feeling too much or too little can change this connection.
In this training, Julie Crousset, Social Worker, and Sophie-Anne Scherrer, Occupational Therapist, talk about long term support to clients with disabilities in Eeyou Istchee. They present the role of the Community Worker, the situations when case management is needed and how it works. This presentation is geared towards CBHSSJB local Social Services staff and managers, but it can also be informative for clients and families who need long term support.
Snoezelen room is a place where people of all ages can use their senses to relax. This webinar will teach you why it can help and how to safely use it with your clients or loved-ones. You will get concrete step-by-step instructions and watch some live videos of sessions.
An image is worth a thousand words. Visual schedules can help people “see” what you mean, prepare for transitions, build autonomy and reduce anxiety. They can also work with many different ages and abilities. In this interactive workshop, you will learn and practice how to create and use visual schedules.
