How to Develop Early Language Skills

Are there children around you who are not speaking yet? Your small actions can make a big difference in how they learn any language (Cree, Inuktitut, English, etc.). This training will cover one specific strategy that can help: imitation. It will explain why it is important and it will give you concrete examples on how to use it.

The events are free.

The sessions are on Zoom, so you should have it installed on your device.  A pair of headphones with a microphone are also ideal.

Training week is geared toward the Cree communities of Eeyou Istchee – James Bay.

The sessions are aimed at anyone who has a family member, friend or loved one with a disability, as well as teachers, educators and community workers. Law enforcement and emergency response personnel are encouraged to attend as well.
